Cadence Design Systems is an electronic design automation company, creating software for the design of electronics and circuit boards. I worked on a team dedicated to the automation of printed circuit board design using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
Technical Writer Intern | June – August 2018 | Palo Alto, CA
Cloudera is a medium-sized company that provides businesses with tools for data warehousing and analytics, derived from open source software. While at Cloudera, I worked with the Technical Writing team to write and edit customer-facing product documentation. I helped to write documentation for the launch of Cloudera’s product Workload XM. I also scripted, produced, and narrated instructional videos for new product releases to aid in expedited customer support.
DeRisi Lab, University of California, San Francisco
Research Intern | June – August 2016 | San Francisco, CA
The DeRisi Lab focuses on genetic research and the development of gene sequencing techniques. In addition to aiding other lab members in their work, I conducted my own research in human endogenous retroviruses and medical gene sequencing in order to improve on current diagnostic methods. I used biological wet lab techniques as well as programming to compare collected genomic data with sequences from the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

The Tech is MIT’s student newspaper. As a news journalist, I write articles on campus stories for weekly publication. This includes researching stories and interviewing persons of interest. Check out my portfolio to see some of the articles I’ve written, or look at them on the Tech’s website.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Jack and Jill is an social organization dedicated to providing African-American families with opportunities for leadership development and volunteer service. In addition to being Teen President of our San Francisco chapter, I held several other positions. I started the tradition of our annual retreat, as well as planning our first yearly fundraiser, which brought in over $3,000.
